When I was shopping for a meat grinder, I checked the reviews. This one does not have many, but they were good, and since it's made of stainless steel, I decided to buy it. Since I have only used it once so far, I can't comment on the longevity, but did a great job. I bought mainly to grind meat for hamburgers, as I feel you never know what's in the ground beef commercially packaged and I like my Burger rare. the approximately 12 pounds of meat twice and never on the ground
